Steve Clements Famous Open Mic!

Wednesday nights is an institution (now in it’s 4th year). Our host Steve Clements carefully weaves his way through each week, signing up, and backing up a “who’s who” of local and Boston musicians playing all styles of music, on drums, percussion, and even guitar.

His sidekick Paul Ortolano (an accredited singer songwriter and producer) rounds out the duties on the bass, taking notes and supporting the revolving cast of Lowell “Heathens” as they test out their latest and greatest on rowdy listening crowd.

Backline includes a full drum kit, an acoustic guitar, a yamaha P-80 piano (when requested before hand), extra percussion and amps.

Sign-up starts at 8pm (the list can fill up quick) at the club itself.
Spots run 2-3 songs or 15mins each.

If you’re new to the scene and want to inquire about playing a set, send Steve a message on Facebook.

Steve Clements is a New England bred singer/songwriter/drummer/percussionist who has played/toured with acts such as Serial Thrillers, and Dale Bozzio/Missing Persons.

Alison Keslow

Alison began playing piano at the age of 4. By age 18 she changed to the bass guitar and started playing rock, blues and later jazz. At Berklee College of Music in Boston, Alison studied electric bass under Rich Appleman and Bruce Gertz. After graduating in 1994, she began freelancing in the Boston area and soon built a reputation as a versatile player and soloist on electric bass. Later Alison studied more advanced jazz improvisation with the great jazz guru Charlie Banacos from 2002-2005. Alison has shared the stage or supported such great artists such as Joan Armatrading, Jerry Marotta (drummer for Peter Gabriel) and more. Alison regularly performs in the Boston and New England area with her own project, The Alison Keslow Group. Alison released her solo CD “Between Earth and Sky” in 2003 which received air play throughout New England. Her latest album “Bass Dharma” recorded in 2014 highlights her original jazz compositions with a signature solid groove and smart melodies!
